Experience the thrill of an African safari in just one day at Akagera National Park, Rwanda's only savannah park and home to the Big Five. This day trip from Kigali offers an excellent opportunity to witness lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and numerous antelope species in their natural habitat.
Situated in eastern Rwanda, Akagera National Park covers over 1,120 square kilometers of savannah, woodland, and wetland ecosystems. The park is named after the Akagera River that flows along its eastern boundary, feeding into a complex system of lakes and papyrus swamps that make up the largest protected wetland in Eastern-Central Africa.
Our experienced guides will take you on an extensive game drive through the park's diverse landscapes, sharing their knowledge about the wildlife, plant species, and conservation efforts. The park's successful reintroduction of rhinos and lions makes it the only place in Rwanda where visitors can see all of the Big Five animals.
